The 9,640-meter-long Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway Zhanjiang Bay Undersea Tunnel is completed. It is the largest diameter cross-sea high-speed rail shield tunnel with the longest single-head excavation distance in my country.
After opening to traffic, the train running time in the central urban areas of Guangzhou and Zhan Jiang will be shortened to about 90 minutes. The construction of the tunnel effectively preserved the existing city skyline and reduced the impact on waterway traffic.
