Machinery orders increased by 6.3% in July, but basic judgment was not changed Cabinet Office September 10 10:32

As a major machine maker, which shows the outlook for corporate capital investment, the order amount for July increased by 6.3% from the previous month, increasing for the first time in 2 months.

However, the Cabinet Office has said that it is "decreasing" without changing the underlying judgment based on the trends in the last few months.

According to the Machinery Order Statistics released by the Cabinet Office, the amount of orders received by major machine manufacturers from domestic companies in July was 751.3 billion yen, except for ships and electric power, which fluctuate a lot.

Orders increased 6.3% from the previous month, rising for the first time in two months.

Looking at the breakdown, orders received from the manufacturing industry increased by 5%, and orders for plastic processing machines and engines for ships increased.

The non-manufacturing industry increased by 3.4%, and orders for computers for financial and insurance and rail cars increased.

However, since the statistics show a wide range of monthly fluctuations, the Cabinet Office has determined that the trend is "declining" without changing the keynote judgment, taking into consideration the trends over the past few months.

The Cabinet Office said, "The new coronavirus has been showing signs of bottoming out in industries such as automobiles, which had continued to decline, and we are paying close attention to future trends."
