But if these state-regulated credits impose little or no interest rate at all, it is never without consideration.

Once the funds have been obtained, the legislation requires you to use them for a specific site, meeting the commitments made at the time of signing, within a limited time frame.

And it is better not to drag things out, since if you do not send the supporting documents proving the completion of the work on time, it is the reimbursement of sums unduly received, moreover increased, which hangs in your face.

Serious circumstances

Nevertheless, we are never immune to an unforeseeable problem.

This is the reason why the legislator foresees certain situations in which the borrower can obtain an additional time to carry out the condition of works.

However, a decree published in

the Official Journal

of June 29, 2020 specified these terms for the zero-rate loan, the loan agreement and the zero-rate eco-loan.

As a reminder, let us recall that the famous PTZ is granted to finance the purchase of the main residence in the new or, in zone B2 or C, in the old one subject to carrying out important works there.

The loan agreement can, on the other hand, finance the acquisition of a good or modifications in a dwelling already occupied.

Finally, the eco-PTZ is reserved for owners wishing to improve the energy performance of their home.

Three months maximum

Within the framework of these three specific loans, you can obtain a reprieve for your site if you prove a case of force majeure, a serious illness or accident resulting in incapacity for work of at least three months or the death of the co-worker. borrower, but also during a litigation procedure related to the performance of the work or when the state of natural or technological disaster is recognized.

Since July 1, 2020, you must send your request accompanied by the necessary supporting documents to the bank that granted you the loan, since it is now the bank which mainly grants extensions of time.

The Directorate General of the Treasury only intervenes in specific situations.

Please note: you must act, at the latest, within three months before the expiry of the initial period provided for.
