Labor Minister Elisabeth Borne announced that Pôle emploi will strengthen its workforce with 2,800 recruitments in the coming months. A measure intended on the one hand to support the 750,000 young people who will enter the labor market, but also to cope with the proliferation of social plans.

Pôle emploi will strengthen its workforce with 2,800 recruitments "to support young people" and cope with the increase in the number of unemployed due to the social crisis caused by the Covid-19 epidemic, the Minister of Labor announced on Sunday. Elisabeth Borne. Objective stated: that the 750,000 young people who will enter soon find a job. Facing a proliferation of social plans

It is therefore to avoid what would be an economic disaster, that 1,300 jobs will be created in the coming months - including 650 from September - to support these new arrivals on the labor market. A measure that is added to the bonus for hiring a young job.

But youth employment is not the only concern, the government expects a surge in unemployment in the coming months and an increase in social plans. Since March, no less than 326 have already been identified, against 228 last year at the same period. And everything seems to indicate that this is just the beginning. This is why Pôle emploi will also strengthen its workforce with 1,500 additional recruitments.

Other job creations planned at Pôle emploi

If Elisabeth Borne remained unclear on the type of contract, CDI or CDD, according to the unions these hires will mainly be short contracts. But the government also hints that more positions could be created if the situation turns out to be worse than expected. Because the only certainty for the coming months is that the situation may be very tense.
