Large-capacity fishermen of the Sanma fishing main landing only 1% of last year's landing at 12:23 on August 26

In this year's saury fishing, which is expected to be extremely harsh, a large-scale main vessel returned to the port of Nemuro, Hokkaido, the number one landing site nationwide on the morning of the 26th, and made the first landing. However, the landing volume was only about 1% compared to last year, and it was a very tough start.

For the 10th consecutive year, the Hamasaki Port in Nemuro City, the number one landing site for saury, has returned from 7:00 am on the 26th, and two large vessels weighing more than 100 tons have returned one after another for the first time.

However, the total landing amount was about 6 tons, which was only about 1% compared to the first landing last year.

According to the local fishery cooperatives, the saury is about 30 cm long and weighs about 120 grams, and the slightly smaller one is conspicuous.

In addition, after the ban on fishing for large vessels, a total of 45 vessels have been uncovered, but it is said that many of the vessels have finished their operations and are returning to the harbor without any aggregated catch.

A 59-year-old owner of a large ship said, "It's the first time that a large ship cannot catch so much samma for the first time. If this situation continues, not only our management, but the entire industry will be in a difficult situation."

In subsequent auctions, the price per kilo was 3,900 yen, more than 6 times the price of the first landing last year.

This year's saury fishing was a tough start for the mainstay large ships, as the small and medium-sized ships that had been lifted the ban for a while were seriously caught.
