Starbucks has announced that 85% of its stores in the United States will somehow be reopened by the end of the week.
The CEO of the company, Kevin Johnson, announced this in a letter to customers and partners, noting that 90% of the stores will be reopened by early June, although many stores have modified their operations and hours of operation.

Johnson said: "After seven weeks of sheltering indoors in the United States, we have adopted a method of observation, rapid acclimatization, and even normality now."
"As we gradually graduate from isolation, people yearn for communication and society, which is essential for humanity," he said, adding that operations change "to meet evolving customer expectations and societal change."

He explained that nearly 20 million people use the Starbucks app as part of their "daily routine."
