The solidarity fund of 7 billion euros to support businesses during the Covid-19 crisis has paid at this point 937 million euros in aid, Gérald Darmanin announced in the Senate on Tuesday.

"This evening at 9:00 pm, we are at 1,088,000 requests," said the Minister of Public Accounts, when examining the second amending finance bill, which brings the solidarity fund to seven billion euros. favor of very small businesses and the self-employed. "Today we have paid 937 million euros," he added. This amount corresponds to 703,355 aid, said his cabinet.

A budget increased from one to seven billion

The system allows companies that have suffered a fall of more than 50% of their turnover to receive 1,500 euros, an amount that rises to 5,000 euros for those threatened with bankruptcy. The award criteria were expanded last week, as its total budget increased from one billion to seven billion euros.

For the president of the Senate Economic Affairs Committee, Sophie Primas (LR), "the size of this fund still seems to need to be increased".

A voluntary contribution to large groups?

Senator LR Jean-François Husson for his part proposed to "make a solemn appeal (...) to all of the large groups (...) who today are in good health", believing that "the time is serious enough and important to request a voluntary contribution ”.
