The multinationals of the United States with subsidiaries in Spain ask the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, for a great turnaround in their tax plans due to the crisis, starting with the suspension of the so-called Google Rate and the fiscal increases foreseen by the coalition government in the Tax of Societies.

The president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain, Jaime Malet, asks in a letter to the socialist leader himself "to paralyze far-reaching tax reforms (Corporate Tax, Personal Income Tax, Financial Transactions Tax, Tax on certain Digital Services) to benefit measures more urgent prosecutors to generate relief for taxpayers' treasury. " In his opinion, "the fastest way is to postpone the payment of tax quotas, even modifying the deadlines for declaration."

The Chamber groups 280 companies, including subsidiaries of the main US multinationals from IBM and Google, to Microsoft, Coca-Cola or Disney.

Among the relief measures, Malet proposes a "reduction in the tax base for those companies that maintain or increase their workforce or, alternatively, a deduction in quota or a bonus". Also, the "possibility of requesting extraordinary deferrals and installments of tax debts by all those companies, regardless of their size, who experience proven difficulty in complying with the tax obligations derived from the COVID-19 crisis."

It is also important to " increase the tax deductibility limit of financial expenses caused by the indebtedness acquired by companies to alleviate the treasury needs derived from the global pandemic."

In all his proposals Malet assures the Prime Minister that there are already other countries, including the United States, that he is applying them to try to cushion the economic collapse.

In any case, the president of the Hispano-American association assures "support" of his partners to "the measures arranged by the Government and the efforts of the whole Spanish society, putting us at his service to contribute to the social and economic recovery of the country".
