The rate of inflation in consumer prices in the country declined year on year in March by 1.6% compared to March of 2019, so that inflation will continue to decline for the fifteenth month in a row.

The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority said in its "Inflation March 2020" report issued today that covers the change in the prices of 12 major commodities and services to the consumer that the general consumer price index reached 106.9 points in March 2020 compared to 108.6 points in March 2019.

The report pointed out that the low annual inflation came as a result of the decrease in the prices of 8 main groups, namely recreation and culture by 9.9%, housing, water, electricity and gas by 4.08%, and household equipment and equipment by 1.8%.

And transportation services by 1.5%, restaurants and hotels by 0.98%, communications by 0.6% and a variety of goods and services by 2.9% Health Group by 0.08%.

According to competitiveness and statistics, the prices of 4 other major commodity groups, tobacco, increased by 6.4%, food and beverages by 3.9%, education by 0.7%, and clothing and shoes by 0.07%.

The report pointed to a decrease in the inflation rate in the country on a monthly basis in the month of March, compared to the month of February, by 0.9%.
