While the confinement is extended until May 11, certain economic sectors are trying to gradually resume their activity. For business leaders, the challenge is to convince unions and reassure employees by adopting health protection measures.

After a month of containment and cessation of activity in certain sectors due to Covid-19, the time has come for a gradual recovery. This is particularly the case for certain yards and factories, but it is not always easy to do so with the agreement of the unions. The challenge, at the moment for business leaders, is to succeed in reassuring their employees. "We have reviewed the physical organizations of workstations, reviewed the flow of travel of employees in factories, everything that is changing rooms, canteens", list Pierre Boulle, CEO of Novarès.

Equipment already made in Italy

The automotive supplier is at the head of 45 factories in 23 countries. And so far, only five sites in China have taken over. In France, a factory should reopen next Monday. To convince employees that no health risk will be taken, Pierre Boulle relies on what has been put in place in Italy, in the factory located near Turin.

"We did it in Italy, we had two weeks of work during the confinement. We had 100% of the employees and we have 0 contaminated person so we know how to run a factory, including in confinement", reassures the President and CEO. "Everyone must be turned to this sanitary correct restart in order to allow the company to restart."

The recovery trend in construction

In construction, the trend is also on the upswing. "I really feel a desire of business leaders, it is normal they worry about their work tool. They inquire about how they can take over, under what conditions. You have seen that sites have left, in particular on the Aquitaine bridge. Not just how, we are attentive and we encourage them to resume in compliance with the rules, "said Fabienne Buccio, prefect of the New Aquitaine region.
