The Dujiangyan to Siguniangshan Mountain Rail Transit Poverty Alleviation Project was surveyed and designed by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as China Railway Eryuan). The project draws on the successful operation experience of overseas “narrow gauge + rack rail” technology and integrates it scientifically According to the Chinese railway technology, according to the characteristics of mountainous railway lines, the project's running track adopts a double-line meter gauge design. At the same time, a new rack EMU is developed. In Dapo road section, steel wheels and rails, rack and pinion dual-type traction are used to improve the traffic capacity.

A large number of scenic spots are distributed in the route of the Du Fourth project. In order to protect the ecological environment, the design institute China Railway Second Hospital has optimized the route scheme and mostly adopted the bridge and tunnel method to pass. In terms of bridges, the project mainly refers to the method of bridge erection and beam construction for railway construction, which reduces land occupation during construction and reduces environmental damage. In terms of tunnels, it is planned to use non-blasting machinery excavation and construction technology for some tunnels to reduce the impact on plants and animals during construction and control noise and vibration during construction.

The Du 4 project is a pilot project for rail transit tourism in Sichuan Province, which is a series of scenic spots including Dujiangyan, Qingcheng Mountain, Wolong, and Siguniang Mountain. In order to achieve harmony with nature, China Railway Second Hospital made the line follow the undulations during the design process, and the traveling trains were integrated with the environment to form a landscape for each other. In addition, the project also integrates the rich tourism resources in northwestern Sichuan with the Chengdu Plain, organically combining transportation and tourism, and greatly promoting the development of tourism and related service industries along the route, thereby further expanding employment supply, increasing residents' income, and effectively realizing The poverty alleviation function of tourism helps poverty alleviation in poverty-stricken areas.
