A spokesperson for the Expo 2020 Dubai office said: "We continue to monitor the global situation with regard to the Covid-19 virus since its inception and periodically review plans and preparations in line with the guidelines and directives issued by the United Arab Emirates and international parties concerned."

"Following the approach of the International Exhibitions Bureau, the Expo 2020 Steering Committee will meet again remotely on March 30 for further consultation," the spokesman added.

He continued, "We remain committed to hosting the International Expo as we all imagined, in order to review the best models of cooperation and innovation from around the world. Any decision on the International Expo must be a collective decision, issued in consultation with the participants, the International Bureau of Exhibitions and other interested parties."
