The reporter learned from Urumqi Customs that the total value of Xinjiang ’s foreign trade imports and exports in the first two months of this year was 20.03 billion yuan, a 3.1% decrease compared with the same period of the previous year (the same below). Among them, exports were 12.95 billion yuan, down 16.7%, mostly for traditional labor-intensive products such as textiles, furniture, luggage, footwear, plastic products; imports were 7.08 billion yuan, an increase of 38.5%, mainly for commodities such as natural gas and oil.
It is worth noting that in the first two months, the import and export of Xinjiang's private enterprises exceeded 14 billion yuan, accounting for 70% of Xinjiang's total foreign trade value during the same period. Among them, imports exceeded 1.9 billion yuan and exports were 12.1 billion yuan.
In the first two months, Kazakhstan continued to be Xinjiang's largest trading partner, with imports and exports accounting for more than 50% of Xinjiang's total foreign trade value during the same period. Xinjiang ’s imports and exports to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia all declined year-on-year.
Wu Wei, deputy director of Urumqi Customs, introduced that the new crown pneumonia epidemic caused a certain impact on Xinjiang ’s foreign trade imports and exports, especially exports.
