The Department of Economic Development Abu Dhabi issued a circular to all owners of companies and institutions licensed to them to adhere to the determination of prices for goods and products, in accordance with the provisions of Federal Law No. 24 of 2006 regarding consumer protection and its executive regulations.

The head of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, Muhammad Ali Al-Shurafa, emphasized that this circular comes from the keenness of the government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to protect the rights of consumers at the emirate level in light of the great demand from consumers to secure the purchase of their necessary needs.

He called on companies and institutions of the private sector to cooperate and adhere to what was stated in the circular in a way that enhances the level of partnership between the public and private sectors in providing all the necessary materials and requirements for consumers, stressing the keenness of the Department of Economic Development to provide all forms of support to facilitate the work of companies to provide all forms of logistical support to members of society.

He said that if any violation is monitored in this regard, whether through reporting it or through the periodic inspection teams of the department, we will be strict in editing the violation according to what was stated in the table of violations of the economic activities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, specifically Article 53 thereof, which states not to be committed to selling at fixed prices Or declared, or the rates of downloads or liquidations specified or authorized by the competent authority.

In the circular, it is stated that when the provider offers any good or service to write prices on it in the local currency in an apparent and clear manner, it is also prohibited to impose additional fees or services on the consumer without justification in addition to the obligatory delivery of the price bill including all price data, and that the term does not include the goods that are not returned or Be replaced.

According to the circular, the provider must not advertise any good or service in a misleading manner and it deceives the consumer. The provider is also prohibited from distinguishing between consumers in selling the good or service, whether in price or quality.
