The comprehensive contribution of tourism to GDP was 10.94 trillion yuan, accounting for 11.05% of the total GDP.

According to the China Tourism Academy, China's tourism economy will continue to grow faster than GDP growth in 2019. The domestic tourism market and the outbound tourism market have grown steadily, and the inbound tourism market has a more stable foundation.

The survey results show that the number of inbound tourists in 2019 reached 145 million, an increase of 2.9% over the same period last year. Among them, foreigners increased by 4.4%; compatriots in Hong Kong increased by 1.4%; compatriots in Macau increased by 6.5%; compatriots in Taiwan were basically unchanged from the same period last year. The number of overnight tourists entering the country increased by 4.5% over the same period last year.

International tourism revenue was 131.3 billion US dollars, an increase of 3.3% over the same period last year.

Inbound foreign tourists accounted for 75.9% in Asia, and 35.0% were tourists for leisure.
