So far, in 2019, Tianjin, Shenzhen, On the basis of Hangzhou, Hefei, and Deqing County, Zhejiang Province, the number of national new-generation artificial intelligence innovation development test zones supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology has increased to nine.
The Ministry of Science and Technology recently wrote to the governments of Chongqing, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Shandong to support and actively cooperate with the four provinces and cities to promote Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi'an, and Jinan to build national new-generation artificial intelligence innovation development test zones, coordinate research and solve related issues. Policy issues, strengthen work guidance and resource docking, and summarize and promote typical experiences and policies and measures in a timely manner. At the same time, a monitoring and evaluation mechanism is established to track and evaluate the progress of the construction of the test area, and to provide incentives and support based on the evaluation results.
In August 2019, the Ministry of Science and Technology formulated and issued the "Guidelines for the Construction of the National New Generation Artificial Intelligence Innovation Development Pilot Area", which aims to accelerate the implementation of the deployment requirements of the "State Council's Notice on Printing and Dissemination of New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Planning" and to carry out the country in an orderly manner. The construction goal is to provide services to support the national regional development strategy by 2023, lay out about 20 experimental areas, and build a number of artificial intelligence innovation highlands with major leading roles.
