As the Covid-19 epidemic continues to spread, the bosses of SMEs met by Europe 1 deplore a lack of information on what to do if one of their employees turns out to be positive. Some even took it upon themselves to contact the toll-free number dedicated to the coronavirus.

Many do not know what to do if a positive case occurs within their team. While France now has several epidemic outbreaks (Oise, Haute-Savoie, Morbihan, and Mulhouse) of coronaviruses, the confederation of small and medium-sized enterprises points to the concern of certain owners of SMEs. While 46% of them have already put in place protective measures for their teams, many feel that they are not informed enough about the procedure to follow in the event of infection.

The vagueness on the procedure to follow if an employee is positive

A lack of information that is felt even in French "clusters", as in Morbihan, where 13 cases have been identified. Philippe is the head of an SME of 25 people in the fishing sector, and he has no idea what to do if one of his employees tests positive. "We don't know if we should close the business, if we should quarantine the entire staff ... We have no instructions," he explains at the microphone of Europe 1. "An email of information with the behavior to be followed and a list of the various possible cases would certainly have helped the owners of PME spent better nights ".

"I went to get the information myself, nobody contacted me"

A situation which is also found in the hairdressing salon of Servane located in Crépy-en-Valois, in Oise, the department most affected in France by the coronavirus with 64 cases. But unlike Philippe, she decided to take the lead. "I went to get the information myself, nobody contacted me. I even dialed 0800 130 000 [the toll-free number on the Covid-19, accessible 24 hours a day, editor's note] to be sure not fool me. "

Without having received specific instructions for business leaders, Servane has strengthened hygiene measures in his living room: "we clean the shelves even more," she breathes. And if one of her "collaborators" contracts the Covid-19, the boss already knows what she is going to do. "If I don't have symptoms, I won't be tested, I will continue to take precautions and work."
