Construction will start in December 2018 and is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2020. This project is the first UHV channel built for clean energy delivery in the country and the world. It is of great significance to promote the development of renewable energy bases in Northwest China, meet the electricity demand in central China, and improve the quality of the atmospheric environment. In February 2019, “Tianwei Baobian” won the bid for the production and manufacturing tasks of 28 converter transformers and 6 750 kV AC transformers at the high and low ends of Qinghai Hainan Station. At present, three ± 400 kV AC transformers and the first ± 200 kV AC transformer made by the company's headquarters have been assembled and passed the test.
