The Lidl supermarket chain has launched an alert requesting the return of the Kani Oregano product , 7.5g for the value of "pyrrolizidine alkaloids" that can cause "liver conditions in case of prolonged intake . "

These are the lots with the preferred consumption date 07/2022 and the numbers LA91832 and LC91834 from the supplier WEIAND GmbH.

According to the note issued by Lidl on January 28, "alkaloids are plant components from unwanted plants that grow alongside crops and have not separated properly during harvest. These can cause liver disease in case of prolonged intake ". Therefore, Lidl has asked customers to "return the product and not consume it" .

Both lots have been withdrawn from sale and can be returned at any Lidl store. The supermarket chain will reimburse the purchase price , "even without presenting the purchase ticket."

No other batch of oregano and any other product of the KANIA brand, sold by Lidl, "is affected", has secured the food chain, which apologizes to customers for the "inconvenience caused."
