The French head of state Emmanuel Macron does not travel to the World Economic Forum in Davos. A representative of the Presidential Office in Paris announced that Macron has a busy schedule.

The French president is confronted in France, among other things with continuing protests of the so-called yellow vests against his reform policy.

Prior to Macron, US President Donald Trump had already canceled his participation in the conference on Thursday, explaining the budget dispute with the opposition Democrats.

The World Economic Forum will take place from 22 to 25 January in Davos. Around 2,500 international representatives from business, politics, science and society are expected.
