Ten years ago, hundreds of dinosaur footprint fossils were discovered in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province.

Three trident-shaped toes are clearly visible.



Footprints left by a large carnivorous dinosaur with a foot length of 45 cm.



The blunt footprints of herbivorous dinosaurs, which are believed to have walked on two legs, are also close to 40 meters long.



These are traces left by dinosaurs who lived on this land during the Cretaceous Period of the Mesozoic Era, between 130 million and 65 million years B.C.

About 280 footprints, including those of herbivorous dinosaurs measuring 62 centimeters, the largest in Korea, as well as those of carnivorous dinosaurs and pterosaurs, were identified and designated as natural monuments.



After 10 years of academic research, conservation treatment, and conservation building construction, the dinosaur footprint fossils are now open to the public.



Gunsan City plans to use it as a tourism and educational resource in connection with the geological attractions of the Gogunsan Archipelago.
