In the future, if you hang up the electronic anklet and escape, your personal information will be disclosed regardless of the nature of the crime.

The Ministry of Justice implemented the 'Rules for Disclosure of Unknown Cases of Affected Persons', which contains these contents, from the 12th of this month.

Until now, personal information and charges were disclosed only if there was a prior conviction for serious crimes such as sexual violence, murder, robbery, and kidnapping of minors, even if the person damaged the electronic anklet and escaped.

However, the revised directive removed the disclosure requirements for each type, and required that all personal information and suspicion be disclosed regardless of criminal history if the electronic anklet was damaged and escaped.

The Ministry of Justice said, “The electronic anklet damage case shows a characteristic that the risk of violent crime is very high after being involved in a second offense, whereabouts are unknown, or fleeing, regardless of the criminal history.” It is intended to be supplemented," he explained the purpose of the revision.
