Citizens continue to walk in the memorial space prepared at the site of the disaster.

Connect with reporters who are on-site.

Reporter Ji-wook Kim, I think there are more chrysanthemums than yesterday (3rd). Please tell us about the atmosphere there.

<Reporter>

Yes, I am at Exit 1 of Itaewon Station, where citizens voluntarily created a temporary memorial space.

Today (the 4th) is the week since the disaster.

I was here at about this time last Tuesday as well, but when I came back a few days later, I could feel how many citizens had visited this place because of the many chrysanthemum flowers of mourning and handwritten letters that filled the walls.

Here, Exit 1 of Itaewon Station has been established as a space of consolation to mourn those who have left, and to heal each other's wounds.

Volunteers work hard on site too?

<Reporter>

Yes, it is.

It was early in the morning due to the sudden cold weather, but the citizens did not stop coming.

I have talked with the mourners who have been visiting this place since dawn, a college student who came to this place because of the death of a peer before going to school, and an office worker who stopped by for a while on the way to work.

And there were citizens who wanted to come and mourn at a quiet time.

All of them deeply mourned the dead and prayed for the recovery of the wounded.

As of 6 o'clock today, as of 6 o'clock today, the government has confirmed that 156 people have died and 187 were injured, of which 33 are seriously injured.
