Park was indicted on charges of stealing 15 billion won from 10 acquaintances from June 2014 to January last year by deceiving 10 acquaintances, saying, "I got a high profit by trading bearer bonds and bills. That's it.



He tricked and approached teachers and parents at his children's schools, residents of the same apartment building, and members of volunteer groups as if he had made a lot of money through bond trading or auctions.



He persuaded them to invest or borrow money, promising high interest rates of around 3% per month, up to 8%.



As a method of borrowing more money by paying interest on time, each person received as little as tens of millions of won and as much as 5-6 billion won.



Mr. A, who had entrusted 400 million won to Mr. Park, who was a longtime neighbor and parents of the same school as his children, found out that he had been scammed and tried to make an extreme choice after killing his two daughters.



After leaving home to report fraud to the police on March 9, Mr. A killed his two daughters in their 20s and 10s in a car parked near a bridge in Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, and self-harm, and received treatment for several months.



The court said, "Many victims borrowed money from the surrounding area as requested by Park, and lost most of their property and became burdened with large debts." "I made an extreme choice," he said.



The court said, "Mr. Park has caused indescribable damage to the victims. Family relationships are broken and some are complaining of psychological pain."
