At the Hite Jinro plant in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, strike union members were rescued after jumping into the river in protest against the forced dissolution of the police.

It is difficult to find a point of contact due to the large difference in positions between the two sides.

Yesterday (4th) at 11 am, this is the bridge in front of Hitejinro Factory in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do.

As the police are about to approach, union members, one or two, jump from the railing into the river.

When the union blocked the only bridge connected to the factory for the third day and stopped the shipment of draft beer, the police disbanded, and three union members jumped in succession.

The 119 rescue team, who was waiting below, rescued them immediately, and the situation did not happen any more.

These union members were truck drivers who were in charge of shipping at the Soju Plant in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, and moved to the Hongcheon Plant when the court ruled that the existing strike was an obstruction of business.

Some of them tied themselves to the railing saying they would jump off if the police tried to disperse, and the police and the 119 rescue team have been preparing in case of an emergency.

As the police moved the union members 500m outside and reopened the bridge, shipment was made again in three days.

The union is arguing that the company should give up the request to raise the freight rate by 30%, re-employ all union members, and pay the 500 million won damage caused by the delivery blockage.

The company's position is that union members who return to work by the beginning of next week will not be held responsible, but other than that, they will take strong measures such as obstruction of business.

The union is expected to continue the rally around the factory until the weekend, so tensions at the site are expected to continue.
