It has been confirmed that Cho Hyun-jin (27), who was sentenced to 23 years in prison in the first trial for murdering his ex-girlfriend, submitted a remorse accusing the victim at the appeals court.

The 3rd Criminal Division of the Daejeon High Court (Presiding Judge Jae-oh Jeong) heard the second hearing of the appeals court against Mr. Cho, who was charged with murder and other charges on the 19th.

It is known that Mr. Cho submitted a statement of reflection to the Court of Appeal 21 times, and the court said, "There is a content of deep reflection, but there is also a part that criticizes the victim."

It is reported that Cho claimed that the victim committed the crime due to the accumulation of swearing at him and his deceased parents.

In response, the court said that it could not immediately conclude whether Cho's allegation was true, and said that if there is evidence to prove it, it should be submitted.

"The important thing is that the victim was killed by Mr. Cho," he said.

Previously, Cho was accused of killing the victim by wielding a weapon because he was angry when he received a farewell notice in the bathroom of the victim's residence located in Seongjeong-dong, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si, on the 12th of January at around 9:40 pm.

At that time, after receiving the breakup notice, Cho purchased a weapon from a nearby store and visited the victim's house, and it was understood that he committed the crime by calling the victim to the bathroom.

The victim's mother was also present at the scene.

The first trial court sentenced him to 23 years in prison and 5 years of probation, saying, "Even in front of the victim's mother who heard the victim's protest or the horrific screams of her daughter, she did not show any hesitation and did not give relief."

The next trial will be held at 3 pm on the 16th of next month, and the witnesses will be examined by the forensic officer and the victim's mother.
