Yesterday (18th), more than half of those who were tested positive for Corona 19 in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon were confirmed to be related to Sarangjeil Church in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.

Kang-rip Kim, the 1st general coordinator of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, said, "There are 252 new patients in the metropolitan area, including 150 in Seoul, 94 in Gyeonggi, and 8 in Incheon, among them, at a regular briefing held at the Government Complex Sejong on the 19th. There are 140 confirmed cases, accounting for the majority (about 55%), and the infection is spreading to other areas such as churches and workplaces.

He added, "Among the people related to the Sarang First Church, many people who are undergoing or waiting for examination remain, and group infections are also occurring in a series of other regions, so the increase in patients will continue until this week."

According to the health authorities, the rate of cultivation in the Sarang First Church is 17%.

As of 0 o'clock today, 3,275 people were tested for the church, of which 568 (17.34%) were confirmed.

Despite the high positive rate, the diagnosis test for visitors to Sarangjeil Church is not performed smoothly.

According to the script, 129 people are currently waiting for the test, and 389 people cannot be contacted, or they are denied that they are not members of the Sarang First Church, and the test is not in progress.

In addition, there are about 600 people who cannot be identified, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the National Police Agency are conducting identification checks together.

The heavy script was also concerned about the high positive rate and the high age range of confirmed patients.

Among the confirmed cases of Sarangjeil Church, 40% of those in their 60s or older are classified as vulnerable to infectious diseases.

If there are a large number of elderly confirmed patients, the number of severely ill patients increases and can lead to death.

Regarding this, Kim 1st General Coordinator urged the church members and their families to be promptly inspected for the safety of themselves and their surroundings and encourage them to be prosecutors.

He said, "Some of the confirmed cases of Sarangjeil Church were confirmed to attend the assembly near Gyeongbokgung Palace on the 8th and the Gwanghwamun assembly on the 15th, and there are reports of confirmed cases among the attendees, so the risk of infection at the assembly is very high." Regardless of the symptoms, the attendee asked again to immediately go to the nearest screening clinic and have them tested."

1 General Coordinator Kim said, "Because violations such as quarantine measures and epidemiological investigations are acts that undermine the safety and trust of our society, we will strictly respond with accusations and claims for damages, while making the relevant laws and regulations more appropriate. It is a policy to be quickly supplemented.”
