Manchester City has clearly won their home game against Chelsea and thus taken over the table top of the Premier League for now. The team of Pep Guardiola defeated the Londoners 6-0 (4-0). Chelsea conceded the highest defeat in his Premier League history and falls back to fifth place in the table. Outstanding city player was Sergio Agüero with three goals (13th minute, 19th, 56th), Raheem Sterling (4th, 80th) and Ilkay Gündogan (25th) contributed the further results to the Chelsea debacle.

The fact that Maurizio Sarri and his team in Manchester could not come to a good end was hinted at after not even four minutes played. Kevin De Bruyne surprised the Chelsea backcountry with a quick free-kick into the run of Bernardo Silva, while the Portuguese found sterling with a cross pass that came in at the second post to give the lead (4 '). Just four minutes later, Agüero shot past the empty net from close range - a mistake he made up for.

The Argentinian struck three times after this faux pas. First he shot the ball from 20 yards in the 13th minute, then six minutes later he caught an accidental header from Ross Barkley and scored his second goal (19th). In the second half, he made his hat-trick perfect with a converted penalty from Cesar Azpilicueta's foul on Sterling (56 ').

That his strong performance is not overshadowed by the threesome of his offensive colleague, Sterling ensured with another hit. In the 80th minute he used a cross from Oleksandr Zinchenko to relegate his second goal. The sixth goal was scored by Gündogan, who hit the edge of the area with a shot from the edge of the area following a weak save from national team-mate Antonio Rüdiger (25 ').
