Bundesliga

The garment of the game: In phases, the first game of the Bundesliga second half was entertaining. However, these phases were relatively short. So the Twittersphere had enough time to talk about other things. A very popular topic was the voluminous scarf of Bayern coach Niko Kovac. First World Problems.

I see it with #Kovac so: If it is with the #Schale already nothing - then at least # scarf #TSGFCB

Bayern win at Hoffenheim: The double Goretzka

The man of the first half: was Leon Goretzka. The ex-Schalke took advantage of his freedoms as central attacking midfielder in Kovacs 4-2-3-1 to four finishes and two goals. At first he met from an acute angle, but was lucky that Kevin Vogt faked his shot untenable (34th minute). Then he closed a counterattack to Hoffenheim corner with a worthwhile direct victory (45 + 1). For Goretzka, who brought about 95 percent of his passes to the team before the break, it was a historic achievement.

The first half: was as one-sided as a Best Of Bayern DVD. The Munich had much more ball possession and came on average every three minutes to the conclusion. Robert Lewandowski (10th), Thomas Müller (19th) and Mats Hummels (28th) gave the best chances before Goretzka made the deserved break with his two goals. Everything you need to know about TSG's performance in the first 45 minutes: Goalkeeper Oliver Baumann had most of his team's ball actions (36).

The second half: Was the opposite of the first, namely entertaining and varied football. Julian Nagelsmann reacted in his 100th Bundesliga game as a coach to the weak concept and changed from 3-5-2 to 4-3-3. That showed effect. Suddenly, the TSG took part in the game and worked out for passable opportunities by Leonardo Bittencourt (48) and Joelinton (53) the worthy first goal by Nico Schulz (59). Five minutes from time Adam Szalai almost equalized, but Manuel Neuer reacted well (85 '). Shortly thereafter Lewandowski met for preliminary work by Müller to the decision (87.).

He trashes and trashes and trashes - even lying down

The eternal miller: Before kickoff Kovac drew the displeasure of their own fans not with fashionable questions, but with the lineup. James Rodríguez, who, according to the coach, is "playing for the future", did not get a chance. Instead, Müller was allowed to start from the beginning. That alone would have the hashtag #KovacOut almost trending on Twitter.

I do not care if we win. The fact is, the coach annoys me so much, I would rather Ancelotti back. #kovacout #TSGFCB

In the first half, Müller did little to justify his nomination. Although he was moving a lot and also had a few scenes that deserve the predicate "typical trimmed". But that is no longer a purely positive occupation.

Aaaaaaaah. A typical @esmuellert_. But unfortunately not in it. # TSGFCB 0-0 (19 ') pic.twitter.com/fInDaSaIWu

At least before the 3: 1 Müller shone - but only thanks to a great Anspiels of the substitute James. Its future remains as open as the question of why Kovac reacted so late to the Hoffenheim changes. James came in the 78th minute - 19 minutes after TSG's first-half strike, which nearly turned the game over.

Looking to the future: Bayern have reduced the gap to league leaders Borussia Dortmund to three points, at least for one night. If the BVB wants to restore the old distance, the team of Lucien Favre in Leipzig win (Saturday, 18.30 clock, live ticker SPIEGEL ONLINE).
