Spanish reports reported that English club Manchester United made an astronomical offer to Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe worth half a billion euros, before he agreed to move to Spanish team Real Madrid.

The Spanish website OK Dario reported that Manchester United was ready to compete with the Spanish giant in the race to sign the French striker, but they did not succeed.

Mbappe's future continues to raise speculation as the summer approaches.

The Frenchman's contract with Paris Saint-Germain will expire at the end of the season, which will keep the whole of Europe on alert as they monitor his next destination as he is one of the most important talents in the world currently.

The website said that United offered Mbappe a huge salary of half a billion euros over a 5-year contract, in addition to a registration bonus worth 200 million euros.

But it seems that the player's heart was set on Real Madrid and he would not look anywhere else, according to the website.

Last week, the British news agency PA Media claimed that Mbappe informed Saint-Germain's management of his intention to leave this summer, without specifying his future destination.

The Spanish newspaper Marca said that the 25-year-old player was linked to a move to Spanish club Real Madrid.

Since joining the capital team in 2017 from Monaco at the age of 18 for 180 million euros, Mbappe has won everything with Saint-Germain, except for the Champions League competition, which lost its final match in 2020 to Bayern Munich.

He will leave his Parisian club after breaking a large number of records, most notably the club’s all-time top scorer with 222 goals.

After the implicit agreement reached with the player in the summer of 2023, which allows the club not to pay tens of millions in bonuses to Mbappe, the player then indicated that he did not want to extend his contract beyond 2024.
