Ronaldo may be punished with a two-match ban and a fine (Reuters)

The Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya revealed that a harsh punishment awaits Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of the Saudi Al-Nasr team, due to his disgraceful behavior in his team’s last match against Al-Shabab in the Saudi Professional League.

During the match, which ended with a difficult 3-2 victory for Al-Alami, Ronaldo carried out unethical behavior in front of the Al-Shabab fans, which prompted the Youth Administration to file a complaint with the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Football Federation.

According to the widely circulated newspaper’s sources, the committee is moving to suspend “The Don” for at least two matches, in addition to fining him financially due to his unsportsmanlike behavior.

About Ronaldo's shot

Muhammad Al-Sheikh: I am afraid that I will be suspended if I criticize the player 🫣.. The move cannot be justified. Even the European Union punished Ronaldo when he made a similar move against Atletico Madrid #Action_with_Walid #Al-Nasr_Al-Shabab #Disciplinary_and_Ethics_Committee

This is the second incident for Al-Don in a few days after he “went off the script” with disgraceful behavior also in his team’s match against Al-Hilal in the Riyadh Season Cup, in response to Al-Zaeem’s fans who threw the Blue Club’s scarves at him as he was leaving the stadium.

Video clips spread across social media of the 39-year-old Portuguese international making an inappropriate gesture while celebrating his team’s victory over Al-Shabab. It appears that “The Don” was provoked after Al-Shabab fans repeatedly chanted the name of his traditional rival, “Messi,” in the stands.

Saudi media reports confirmed that this inappropriate reference was not shown on television, but the video clips spread across the Internet and sparked very angry reactions.

Local reports indicated that the Saudi Football Association is in the process of opening an investigation into this incident.

Ronaldo scored a goal from a penalty kick in the first half of his team’s match against Al-Shabab, noting that he tops the list of top scorers in the Saudi League with 22 goals.
