Takafuji, who was newly entered into the Grand Sumo Spring Tournament starting on March 10th, held a press conference and expressed his enthusiasm, saying, ``I want to leave a mark with no regrets, with the goal of winning by double digits.''

Takafuji, a 24-year-old native of Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture and a member of Isegahama stable, won the first tournament this year as a new Juryo player with 13 wins and 2 losses, and was ranked in the spring tournament announced on the 26th. He became the 17th maegashira in the east, making his new debut.

This is the first time in 11 years that a new entrant has entered the venue next to the new Juryo, since Endo in the fall of 2013.

At a press conference in Osaka's Higashinari Ward on the 26th, Takafuji said, ``I came here thinking that if I do what I do, the results will follow. It's a position that all wrestlers aim for, so it feels strange to be there.'' I talked about it.

He continued, ``I'm excited, anxious, and scared, but once I step into the ring, I just have to do my best in sumo. The opponents in makuuchi are big and everyone is strong, so I'm aiming for double-digit wins using my speed and pushing sumo skills. I want to achieve a solid result so that I have no regrets,'' he said with enthusiasm.

Regarding the existence of Yokozuna Terunofuji, who is also in the Isegahama stable, he said, ``Yokozuna shows not only words but also actions, and I have seen his back. There is nothing wrong with what Yokozuna is saying, There are a lot of Sekitori people, so I want to incorporate various things and make it my own.''
