Just over a week ago, the news came that Sven-Göran "Svennis" Eriksson is seriously ill.

The former football coach then told that he does not have much time left to live at all.

- At best I have a year, at worst a little less, he said to Sveriges Radio.

"He is number one"

At the Sports Gala, the 75-year-old gets a seat at the table of honor and on the red carpet in front he is praised by several football profiles.

- It is my old coach and of course it hurts that what happens, happens.

He gave me the chance to come to Lazio and it was extremely nice to get it, says Kenneth Andersson to SVT Sport.

How would you rank him among leaders?

- Among leaders extremely high, among football coaches number one.

Just look at the results when it comes to football coaches, we have a lot of good players but not so many good coaches in Europe.

He is number one there, says Andersson.

The World Cup hero from the World Cup 1994, Thomas Ravelli joins the chorus of praise.

- He had a kind of fingertip feeling when it came to getting the players to pull in the right direction.

He got the target image he had transferred to them without being aggressive and barking and yawning.

He managed them in an incredible way, and several players got a boost under him.

He has meant a lot, a lot.
