Ahead of the opening of the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Korea on January 15, in which athletes aged 18 to 1 will compete, a ceremony was held in Tokyo for the Japan Olympic team, and curling player Kaito Fujii, who will serve as the flag bearer for the opening ceremony, expressed his determination to "fight as a team with awareness as Team Japan."

The Youth Olympic Games are held once every four years with the aim of developing athletes between the ages of 15 and 18, and the fourth annual winter Games will be held in South Korea on January 4.

Prior to this, the JOC = Japan Olympic Committee held a union ceremony in Tokyo on the 1th, and the flag of the Olympic team was handed to Fujii, who served as the flag bearer for the opening ceremony.

After this, Fujii said, "I want to go into the tournament with pride and awareness as Team Japan, and I will fight as a team with the joy of standing in the place of my dreams and my gratitude to the people who support me."

The tournament will be held over 4 days until 1 February, and 19 athletes from Japan will compete in five sports.

After the closing ceremony, Team Leader Masahiko Harada said, "I think it will be a meaningful Youth Olympics where the players will gain confidence and improve their abilities by performing well.
