It was found that the Japan Clay Shooting Association was suspected of using inappropriate funds collected from companies as part of its efforts to strengthen athletes for the Paris Olympics, such as using part of the funds for prize money for tournaments in which top athletes do not participate.

After the Tokyo Olympics, the Japan Clay Shooting Association started a project to collect donations from sponsoring companies to support the overseas dispatch of athletes as part of their efforts to strengthen athletes for the next Paris Games.

According to association officials, there is a suspicion that part of the total 240.<> million yen in support money collected through this project was used inappropriately, such as being used for prize money for unofficial tournaments in which top athletes do not participate and for temporary salaries of association staff.

In addition, there have been cases where the support money has been instructed to be transferred to the account of an organization other than the association.

Regarding this issue, an anonymous document accusing the association of scandals was sent to the JOC = Japan Olympic Committee last year, and as a result of an investigation by an outside lawyer, such inappropriate behavior was confirmed, and the association is discussing future responses.
