The final 5-1 came in an empty net when the Czech Republic picked out Aneta Senkova in the goal.
Czech Republic eliminated Canada in the semifinals
The Czech Republic's place in the final was a big surprise. Was beaten by Finland (2-3) and Canada (1-8) in the group stage but surprised big in the playoffs by knocking out Sweden 4-2 in the quarterfinals and Canada with the same numbers in the semifinals.
Canada won the bronze medal match against Finland 8-1 while Sweden finished fifth after beating Slovakia 4-1 in a placement match during the day.
