Manchester City have won the Premier League for the third time in a row. At Newcastle United, the English serial champions managed a 3-2 (1-2) win with goals from Bernardo Silva (26th minute), Kevin De Bruyne (74th) and Oscar Bobb (90th+1). Alexander Isak (35') and Anthony Gordon (37') scored for the hosts.

With the win, City are now second in the table behind Liverpool, who have two points more. After a bumpy season so far, the defending champions are getting better and better.

In Newcastle, however, it initially looked like a difficult evening for Pep Guardiola's team. Although the Citizens were clearly the stronger team and took the lead through a great backheel goal by Silva (29th), they were unable to take advantage of further chances.

Newcastle need just two minutes to turn the game around

Instead, the hosts made a lightning comeback: On the counterattack, Isak loaded the City right-back Kyle Walker and flicked into the right corner from a half-left position (35'). Shortly afterwards, Walker got into a duel with Gordon in a similar position, who was also able to shoot: The ball also hit the same corner with an effet, but lower (37').

Suddenly, Man City were behind. After the half-time break, however, the team turned up the heat. Again and again there were dangerous situations in Newcastle's penalty area, but no goal. This required the substitution of De Bruyne (70'), who had only played in the first game so far this season due to a thigh injury.

In his first league appearance since the beginning of August, the Belgian didn't hesitate for long: In the transition game, De Bruyne picked up speed through the centre and was not tackled. So he shot himself and hit the inside of the left corner at full speed (74').

City's playmaker even led his team to victory. In stoppage time, De Bruyne outplayed Newcastle's defence with a high pass to 20-year-old Oscar Bobb, who skilfully received the ball, put it past the goalkeeper and slotted in (90+1). It was the winning goal, produced by two substitutes.
