Jubilo Iwata's ENDO Yasuhito, who holds the record for the most appearances in the Japan national football team and J1 in history, will retire from active football. In the new season, it has been decided that he will be appointed as the coach of his old club Gamba Osaka.

Endo is a 43-year-old from Kagoshima Prefecture. He joined Yokohama Flugels in 1998 and later moved to Gamba Osaka after working for Kyoto Sanga, where he became a game-maker with accurate passing.

Since the middle of the 2020 season, he has played for Jubilo and has played a record 1 games in J672 and scored 103 goals.

He has also made the most appearances for the Japan national team in history

He has also played in three World Cups for Japan, playing in 3 matches and scoring 152 goals.

Last year, he was selected as the MVP and Most Valuable Player of the Year by supporters at an event commemorating the 15th anniversary of the J.League.

Jubilo competed in J2 last season and decided to return to J1 after one year, but Endo only played in 1 of the 42 games.
