SC Freiburg have climbed to sixth place in the Bundesliga table. The sports club defeated 1. FC Köln 2:0 (0:0) and celebrated their seventh win of the season. The relegation-threatened Cologne remain at the bottom of the table.

In this match, too, parts of the fans protested against the German Football League (DFL), which had agreed on the entry of an investor during the week. In the first twelve minutes, many fans refrained from cheering on their team, then chocolate coins were thrown onto the pitch, followed by chants of "Fuck DFL". The game was interrupted but was able to resume after a few minutes.

In terms of sport, Cologne were better before the break, Freiburg afterwards. However, a goal was not scored until half-time. Especially because Vincenzo Grifo's long-range shot from 18 meters was parried by Kön's keeper Marvin Schwäbe (29th minute).

In the second half, the Freiburg fans were delighted: First, Cologne's Julian Chabot saw yellow and red after a foul - and SC was able to take advantage of the advantage shortly afterwards to take the lead. Michael Gregoritsch scored with a deflection after Schwäbe was able to parry a header from Merlin Röhl. Roland Sallai made it 2-0 in stoppage time – the decision.
