Bayer Leverkusen remain on course for the title. Coach Xabi Alonso's team won 3-0 (1-0) against Eintracht Frankfurt and have now picked up 15 points in 39 games. Second is FC Bayern (32 points), who have played two games less (play VfB Stuttgart at 19:30 CEST).

For Bayer Leverkusen, the game started promisingly. The home side took the lead with their first chance: After a pass from national player Florian Wirtz, it was Victor Boniface who fooled his opponent and hit a low shot into the right corner (14th minute).

In the second half, Leverkusen was able to extend this lead. Once again, Boniface was the centre of attention, his shot from the edge of the penalty area was cleared by Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp – but Jeremie Frimpong dusted off (51').

Boniface was also involved in Leverkusen's third goal: it was his pass that set up Wirtz's spectacular goal, who made it 3-0 for Bayer with a lob into the top right corner (57'). The game was over.
