Kensuke Kondo, who won the home run and RBI titles this season in professional baseball and SoftBank, has renewed his contract for next season with an annual salary of 3 million yen plus piecework, an estimated increase of about 5 million yen.

Kondo, who is in his 12th year as a professional, played in every game this season as a central batting lineup after moving from Japan Ham to SoftBank.

He hit 26 home runs and 87 RBIs to win the title for the first time in both categories.

His on-base percentage was 2.4, and he also won the title of highest on-base percentage for the first time in three years.

In addition, it won the Golden Glove Award and the Best Nine.

Kondo reflected on this season, saying, "It was good that I was allowed to play in all the games for the first time, because it was my goal, and the fact that I was conscious of my slugging percentage took shape a little."

Looking ahead to next season, he said, "I want to win the league championship and be the best in Japan, but personally, I want to be able to surpass the numbers little by little."
