A Swede had won four out of five individual races this season. And in all competitions, a Swede had been on the podium.

But in today's 10 km freestyle in Östersund, Ebba Andersson was the best Swede in ninth place.

The victory went to Jessie Diggins ahead of Heidi Weng and German Victoria Carl.

Emma Ribom was tenth and Linn Svahn thirteenth.

Frida Karlsson was not in the top 20 and skied over 1.5 minutes slower than Diggins.

"It's an eternity. It feels terrible in my body. You could feel it already in the warm-up," Karlsson said.

What do you say about the material?

It becomes quite obvious when no Swede is skiing well. That's what we're supposed to do. So we may have to evaluate it with our waxers.
