Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen will face VfB Stuttgart in the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup. That was the result of Sunday's draw at the German Football Museum. FC Saarbrücken, who had already eliminated record winners Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt, will face Borussia Mönchengladbach as the only third-division team remaining in the competition. In addition, Hertha BSC and 1. FC Kaiserslautern as well as FC St. Pauli and Fortuna Düsseldorf will meet.

U17 World Champion coach Christian Wück was the draw director, and the tickets were drawn by his assistant Jens Nowotny.

The quarter-finals will be played on 30/31 January and 6/7 February. The semi-finals are scheduled for 2/3 April, with the final taking place on 25 May in Berlin. For the first time in 20 years, only three Bundesliga clubs have made it to the quarter-finals of the competition. In addition to Bayern, defending champions RB Leipzig also bowed out early.

Leverkusen and Stuttgart also faced each other in the Bundesliga on Sunday. VfB fought their way to a 1-1 draw against the still unbeaten Rhinelanders.

In the quarter-finals of the Women's Cup, the match between TSG Hoffenheim and defending champions VfL Wolfsburg will be a top match. In addition, the following matches were drawn: Winner of Kickers Offenbach/FC Bayern Munich - Carl Zeiss Jena, Bayer Leverkusen - SGS Essen, Winner of Eintracht Frankfurt/SC Freiburg - MSV Duisburg
