Robert Lewandowski scored against Girona, but his goal was not enough

Outsiders FC Girona continue to cause a sensation in the Spanish football championship. The surprise team surprisingly won 4-2 (2-1) at FC Barcelona on Sunday and thus took back the top of the table. Girona are now two points ahead of record champions Real Madrid, who were held to a 1-1 draw at Betis Sevilla on Saturday.

Barca are already seven points behind Girona.

Artem Dovbyk (12'), Miguel (40'), Valery (80') and Cristhian Stuani (90'+5') scored the winner for the visitors. Striker Robert Lewandowski had scored the equaliser for the defending champions (19').

In addition, the German national team captain Ilkay Gündogan scored in injury time (90+2) for the Catalans, who currently have to do without national goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, who has injured his back.
