Wydad are in third place in the group, a point behind (social media)

Morocco's Wydad Casablanca achieved their first win in the CAF Champions League at the expense of Tanzania's Simba with a clean goal, in the third round of Group B of the continental championship.

Zakaria Daraoui scored the only goal of the match for Wydad in the fifth minute of injury time for the second half.

Wydad, runners-up of last season's edition and champions of the season before last, got the first 3 points in their championship career after losing the first two matches, to occupy third place in the group, a point behind Simba, who are in fourth and last place.

ASEC Abidjan lead the group with seven points, three behind second-placed Guaning Galaxy Botswana.

In Group C, a goalless draw overshadowed the clash between Esperance of Tunisia and Petro Atletico of Angola.

Esperance, who beat compatriot Etoile du Sahel in the first round, before losing to Sudan's Al Hilal in the second, raised their tally to 4 points in second place in the group standings, a point behind Al Hilal.

On the other hand, Petro Atletico raised its score to 7 points at the top of the group, while Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia occupies last place with 3 points.
