"They allowed it, good, of course, but too late. In many sports, qualifying tournaments have already passed, and many will not have time to qualify for the Olympics. Plus, it will be up to the international federations to decide, and it is unclear in what form all this will be," TASS quoted Tarpischev as saying.

According to him, the decision of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) can be expected until the last moment - the French Open, which will be held in May-June 2024.

"According to the rating, all our tennis players pass, but now there is no point in guessing how it will be," Tarpischev added.

On December 8, it became known that the IOC allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the Olympics in a neutral status. Those who have qualified in their sports will get to the Games. At the same time, athletes will not be allowed to participate in tournaments in team competitions.

Moreover, Russian symbols will be banned in any form at official venues and events.

Also, all athletes, without exception, will be required to sign updated conditions for participation in the Olympic Games, including the "peacekeeping mission of the Olympic movement."

The 2024 Games will be held in the French capital from July 26 to August 11.

Earlier it was reported that only 11 individual athletes from Russia and Belarus qualified for the Olympics.
