Science and Technology Daily, Hangzhou, December 12 (Hong Hengfei, reporter Jiang Yun) On the 6th, the Hangzhou Asian Organizing Committee and the Asian Disabled Organizing Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Hangzhou Asian Organizing Committee") held a special press conference. According to the accounting and evaluation certification of a third-party authoritative organization, the Hangzhou Asian Games and the Asian Para Games emitted a total of 6,88 tons of greenhouse gases, used green electricity to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 29,2 tons, and received 20,109,99 tons of carbon offsets from social donations, achieving carbon neutrality for the first time in the history of the Asian Games and the Asian Para Games.

Zhonghuan United (Beijing) Certification Center Co., Ltd., as the carbon neutrality evaluation unit of the Hangzhou Asian Games, issued the "Carbon Neutrality Certificate" to the Hangzhou Asian Organizing Committee. According to reports, in terms of event operation, temporary facilities and event equipment in the venue are preferentially rented, borrowed or recyclable materials are used; The mouthwash cups and hangers in the rooms of the Asian Games Village are made of biodegradable wheat straw; A total of 57 tonnes of paper lunch boxes and milk cartons and 92 tonnes of other low-value waste have been recycled in the Asian Games Village, which can be made into 89.34 tonnes of virgin paper, some of which have been made into paper fans as souvenirs of low-carbon activities.

In addition, on the basis of minimizing carbon emissions, the Hangzhou Asian Organizing Committee mobilized all localities and units to donate carbon quotas, carbon credits, carbon inclusiveness, etc. to offset the carbon emissions generated by the Asian Games. 47 units donated 109,99,6 tons of carbon offset indicators (including 05,1 tons of carbon allowances, 48,86 tons of CCER, 10,16 tons of internationally certified carbon credits, and 36,11 tons of Zhejiang carbon inclusiveness), covering all <> districted cities in Zhejiang Province, and units outside the province also took the initiative to participate, and the number of units far exceeded similar events at home and abroad.

What is particularly important is that in the process of carbon neutrality of the Hangzhou Asian Games, the focus will be on the participation of the whole people, promote the concept of low-carbon in the hearts of the people, and focus on athletes, sponsoring enterprises, the public, staff, etc., to build a national green action system led by the Asian Organizing Committee, hosted and co-organized by the city demonstration, and linked by all localities and units, attracting 2 million people to participate. Mao Genhong said that the Hangzhou Asian Organizing Committee will work with various localities and departments to further refine experience and promote the application of achievements, so as to provide more "Hangzhou experience" for the green and low-carbon hosting of large-scale events.
