Newcastle are considering signing former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, to succeed English goalkeeper Nick Pope, who suffered an injury that could keep him out of action for months.

The England goalkeeper was forced out due to a shoulder injury sustained in his team's victory over Manchester United with a clean goal in the round of 14 of the Premier League football.

The newspaper "The Sun" that the "Maccabees" puts the former Spanish international goalkeeper on the shortlist of players who intend to contract them in the coming period.

The 33-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has been looking for a new club since his departure from the Red Devils last summer, and Newcastle may save him from temporary unemployment if he is signed in the winter transfer market in January.
