Ahead of the international boccia tournament for next year's Paris Paralympics in Hong Kong, the Japan National Team held a training camp and SUGIMURA Hidetaka, who won the gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics, expressed his enthusiasm for the next step with a solid result.

The Asia-Oceania Boccia Championships, which kick off in Hong Kong next month, are a competition for qualification for next year's Paris Paralympics, and the winners of the pairs and team events will qualify for the tournament.

The Japan National Team held a training camp at the National Training Center in Kita-ku, Tokyo in preparation for this tournament, and on the final day of the tournament, the training session was released to the media on the 19th.

Sugimura, who won the individual gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics, showed his smooth coordination by using his precise control to bring the ball closer to the "jack ball" and calling out to his teammates to take aim.

In addition, 17-year-old Ayane Ichinohe, who won the Japan Championships this year and plays in the class with the heaviest obstacles, showed skillful control by rolling the ball with a slide-like device called a "ramp" when determining the position of the shot with her right eye.

Sugimura expressed his enthusiasm by saying, "Against the strong teams in Asia, if you make a mistake, you will be taken advantage of, so each ball is the key.

The Japan national team is scheduled to leave for Hong Kong on the 1rd of next month.
