Kyrie Irving did not remove the keffiyeh until the end of his speech at the press conference (social media)

American star Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks surprised reporters on Sunday by appearing at the press conference, which followed his team's match against rival Milwaukee Bucks, wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh as an expression of solidarity with the residents of the Gaza Strip against the ongoing occupation attacks since the seventh of last month.

Kyrie Irving only removed the keffiyeh at the end of his speech at the conference.

Although he did not say a word about Palestine or Gaza, wearing the keffiyeh was understood as a message of condemnation of the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in the besieged enclave for 43 days.

I asked Kyrie Irving about bouncing back from a slow shooting start, leading to him scoring 18 points in the third quarter and 39 total against the Milwaukee Bucks:

"It's basketball, so it's a tale of two halves. I do my best not to get mentally bogged down or frustrated when... pic.twitter.com/NA3f3T5k3P

Irving participated in his team's Dallas Mavericks game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday morning, which ended in a 132-125 loss in the NBA.

Irving scored 39 points with 6 assists.

Where are all you tough talking Media Heads that get on TV and social platforms to condemn people who stand by the oppressed??

Crimes are being committed against humanity and most of you are silent.
Cat got your tongue? Or you're afraid of actually standing for something real

On the 11th of last month, Irving wrote on his official X account, "Where are you, you media people who speak out loud and who appear on television and on social media platforms, to condemn the people who stand by the oppressed?"

"Crimes against humanity are being committed and most of you are silent, did the cat eat your tongues? Or are you afraid to defend what is true?"

In an interview last year, the Muslim basketball player explained his remarkable brilliance with his former team the Brooklyn Nets in a game on NBA that he was keen to fast.

Irving added that it was "a journey with God. I am not alone in this, I have brothers and sisters all over the world who fast with me."

"We stick to our prayers and meditation, and when I come here, I feel that God is with me. Good bye.. God is with us all, so I walk in faith, that's all that matters."

"When I have the opportunity to do it on this pitch, and I show my God-given talent accurately, I feel very grateful."
